About two years ago when I was releasing my sixth book Create Your Own Reality – The Ancient Wisdom, I was asked to add John Bonner as a friend on Facebook. I thought about it for a few minutes and then thought “what the heck!”
I agreed to add John and decided to see who his friends were. It just happened to include Mark Victor Hansen, Jack Canfield, Robert Kiyoski, John Assaraf, Anthony Robbins and an amazing list of well know speakers and authors.
I felt like I hit the jackpot! I sat there request they add me as a friend for an hour before Facebook gave me a warning. The next morning I had 92 friends and I was hooked on Social Media.
I posted a notice on my wall and asked for help with my marketing for my new book. Within a month I had 12 interviews from Spain, England, Canada and 9 from the US. I was so impressed to see how everyone helped without a second thought.
Can you imagine how much it impacted my marketing to have 12 interviews lined up in just a month from the day I launched my book? This was the easiest I had every been able to set up interviews.
One of the people who found me on Facebook sent a message telling me she had read all of the material I had posted on Facebook and my book site. This Social Media was truly something to write home about.
Susie Wilson asked when she could hear me speak live but said she would be able to come to the US from Australia so I asked her to set up an event in Australia to bring me there. I told her exactly how to do it and I’m still hopeful it will come about one day soon. But the idea of having relationships with people all over the world, now that’s helpful.
I started posting my videos on YouTube and MySpace. I set up a Twitter account and hired a Social Media expert to do the postings for me. The visibility I gained from the use of Social Media was beyond my greatest expectations.
